This is a personal blog. I collect as little information about you as I can, I only use it to run the site and reply to you, and I never sell it.
What I collect
- Comments: your name, email address, website (if you add one), your comment, your IP address, and basic browser details. Your email address is never shown publicly.
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message. These are sent to my inbox.
- Newsletter: if you check the newsletter box, your name and email address are added to my mailing list.
- Donations: handled entirely by PayPal or Stripe. I never see or store your card details.
Services that handle your information
- DreamHost hosts this site and keeps standard server logs.
- Akismet checks comments for spam. It receives the comment, your IP address, and browser details. See the Automattic privacy policy.
- Mailchimp stores the newsletter list and sends the emails. See the Intuit privacy statement.
- PayPal and Stripe process donations under their own privacy policies.
Some posts include videos, music, or other content from sites like YouTube or Bandcamp. These work as if you visited those sites directly, and they may set their own cookies.
Cookies
This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in a cookie so you don’t have to type them again. That cookie lasts one year.
How long I keep it
Comments stay with the post they were left on. Contact form messages stay in my inbox. Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete any information I have about you, including your comments. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, or you can email me and I’ll remove you.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date below.
